Accounting Clerk Position Overview Ensure the accurate recording of financial transactions related to daily activity. Maintain financial records, prepare reports, and ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and company policies. Primary Responsibilities Accounting Functions a. Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies. b. Process invoices, expense reports, and other financial transactions. c. Prepare and submit reports to outside agencies/auditors as required. d. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes. e. Assist with other accounting tasks as needed. Accounts Receivable Functions a. Execute the deposit and accurate recording of checks received by the University. b. Retrieve and coordinate the posting of activity associated with bank accounts. c. Work with the appropriate teams to send and record information related to Unclaimed Property. d. Assist with other accounts receivable tasks as needed. Requirements Education: High school education with related post-high school training/coursework Experience : 1+ years of related experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the Google Suite. * Must be a proven self-starter. * Must be detail-oriented. * Must possess effective oral and written communication skills. * Must be able to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple duties. * Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. * Must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information in a professional manner. * Must be able to work effectively with different departments. * Working knowledge of a Student Information System preferred. * Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting preferred.
