DESCRIPTION

In collaboration with MEG Principal Investigators (PIs), the incumbent will develop and manage MEG (Magnetoencephalography) data findings, prepares data for presentation and grant proposals. Conduct complex data analysis and evaluation of research activities for proposal submissions. Organize, analyze and interpret medical, scientific and/or technical data and write clear, cogent communication of technically complex concepts and methods.

Participates in the design/development of complex MEG database systems. Implement methods and techniques for data management and data dissemination. Identifies, develops and implements effective technologies for safe storage, documentation and dissemination of data. Works with neurosurgery, operating room and IT department to develop/streamline a data system that can apply MEG data and functional mapping of tumors for surgical procedures.

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced research professional with a full understanding of in-depth statistical analyses and / or research software programming techniques. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a degree in a related field (Bioengineering, Neuroscience, Biology)

  • Demonstrated experience acquiring MEG data and analyzing MEG data of clinical and research with Epilepsy, Pre-surgical brain functional mapping, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Demonstrated experience fusing MRI data with MEG data.

  • Demonstrated clinical medical experience in multimodal neuroimaging and brain tumors.

  • Proven excellent knowledge of and experience in the management of large data sets including images as well as other forms of data.

  • Strong demonstrated experience with data collection, management and analysis of data, using web tools, relational databases, statistical software, and spreadsheets.

  • Thorough skills in analysis and consultation.

  • Experience in dealing with human subjects and The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.

  • Knowledge and experience in human brain function and brain anatomy.

  • Excellent record keeping and data management skills with demonstrated ability to obtain and record accurate information and details to insure proper completion of forms and reports.

  • Thorough skills associated with statistical analysis and systems programming.

  • Excellent research and interviewing skills in order to decipher substantive and relevant content for research use. Working knowledge of research study policies and procedures.

  • Superior writing/editing skills and ability to assist in the writing of papers for publication and/or research reporting.

  • Thorough knowledge of research function.

  • Skills in project management.

  • Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.

  • Research skills at a level to evaluate alternate solutions and develop recommendations.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $40.90 - $75.10

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
