Used Equipment Manager

Position Summary:

The Used Equipment Remarketing Manager manages the inventory portfolio of used equipment for Skyjack, Inc and all Skyjack entities, ultimately supporting the overall Asset Remarketing objectives of the company on a global basis. This includes objectives for core business as well as new initiatives. The individual works in a team environment department that manages the sales all the Skyjack assets through acquisition, trade-in, repossession, lease/rental returns as well as the sales of other customer equipment and will be required to work very closely with the New Equipment Sales and Accounting teams. The individual is responsible to motivate and provide guidance to the sales teams to obtain the maximum price for all units in a timely manner. The individual will manage the inventory and must determine the best method(s) of disposition in the most economical and profitable manner for Skyjack. The individual must build a strong relationship with customers within the dealer organization, internal departments, and outside contacts.

Key Accountabilities

·      The sale of all Used Skyjack equipment however it is acquired and the performance of regional market research and analysis.

·      Manage the resale process of Used equipment to effect sale and payment receipt within a targeted timeframe from receiving each asset in inventory.

·      Manage the resale process of Used Equipment to maximize the resale value at a targeted % (or greater) of OLV.

·      Motivating and providing guidance to the Skyjack Sales team to sell Skyjack equipment assets.

·      Providing and recommending training assessment needs for the sales team and any future direct reports

·      Developing additional outlets and channels to promote and sell assets

·      Developing sales management tools/metrics and reports to better the tracking and sales of used assets while holding accountability for established metrics.

·      Developing individualized sales objectives and goals specific to future direct report(s), while providing the team with the tools to meet these objectives

·      Ultimately developing a business plan for each country that will enable success.

·      Developing strong relationships with internal and external customers.

·      Effective communication with dealer organization, internal and external customers, and department co-workers.

·      Effective communication and management of relationships with 3rd party providers of Inspection and storage facilities.

·      Analyzing, determining, and evaluating equipment values to gain the best value for the asset

·      Managing the sales process of all sales of purchased trade-in, repossessed, or returned from lease or RPO aerial lift equipment into the secondary market.

·      Managing the Used equipment remarketing group in obtaining its overall goals and objectives. 

·      Maintaining a working knowledge of all Skyjack products and services.

·      Promote and Market Skyjack used equipment to the Skyjack dealer networks, national and government accounts and other potential sources to maximize and expedite Skyjack used equipment sale results.

·      Manage individual and direct report expenses within assigned budget.

·      Provide training to all Skyjack field sales and support groups to enhance the sales effectiveness of Used Asset Remarketing products and services and fee income.

·      Provide regionalized training seminars, as needed.

·      Participate in events, industry trade shows and dealer training opportunities to promote Used Asset Remarketing Products & Services.

·      Act as primary point of communication regarding Used Asset Remarketing issues, concerns, trends, and competition from field to corporate staff.

·      Provide updates and feedback regarding market trends, competitive analysis, industry developments, and field reconnaissance to Used Asset Remarketing.

·      Manage the progression of transforming the Skyjack Used Remarketing group into a profit center as opposed to a sales expense.

·      Assist with special events.

o  Coordinate Used Equipment sales and training meetings as needed including making travel reservations and all necessary arrangements for the meeting.

o  Assist with coordination of special events within the regions as necessary such as customer events or local trade shows.

·      Assist in the Skyjack Financial Service credit function for credit lines and approvals for new and existing parts customers and the release of equipment off the daily report for Sales Administration.

Minimum Requirements

·      A bachelor's degree in business administration or marketing is required.

Desired Characteristics

·      Minimum three years of sales experience within the Aerial equipment sector.

·      Preferred five years of sales experience within the aerial equipment or rental equipment industries.

·      Background in the equipment industry with specific experience in asset/equipment remarketing sales experience.

·      Hands on experience in equipment sales

·      Proven negotiation skills

·      High Energy, enthusiastic and motivated professional

·      Strong Analytical, organizational and time management skills

·      Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

·      Interface or direct experience with equipment dealerships and end use customers and understanding of operations and activities preferred.

·      Highly proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

·      Ability to work independently while coordinating activities with a variety of teams.

·      Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

·      Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

·      Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

·      Effective oral and written communication skills.

·      Modest overnight travel required.
