We are seeking an Administrative Assistant 1 to join our team of professionals in the Bureau of Statistics and Registries, Division of Vital Records. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an Administrative Assistant 1 for the western region (Pittsburgh and Erie offices), your responsibilities will include serving as the branch office registrar for the registration of deaths and fetal deaths. You will also provide advice and counseling on various death registration issues and perform public relations activities by interacting with funeral directors and consumers in the branch office. Additionally, you will ensure that records requests are legally allowed and prevent fraudulent activity. In addition, you will serve as a backup to the branch clerks by providing in-person counter service to funeral directors and consumers seeking death records for funeral arrangements, insurance, and estate settlements. Furthermore, you will act as the branch's human resource liaison, ensuring that all necessary documents are submitted in accordance with regulations, communicating with prospective employees, and coordinating the onboarding process for new employees. As the fiscal overseer of the branch office, your responsibilities will include monitoring and managing all financial aspects of the office. These duties will include preparing detailed reports, tracking incoming revenue, and ensuring that all funds are properly deposited. You will also be responsible for reconciling bank statements and serving as the purchasing coordinator. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
