Job Description: Sales Professional for Telecoms Sector

Our client, one of Europe's fastest-growing companies, offers open-source solutions and their own widely adopted Linux-based operating system. They provide licensed enterprise software, commercial support, managed services, consulting, and training services for customers deploying open-source applications across cloud, data centers, and IoT ecosystems.

We seek a sole contributor hunter sales professional to engage with Telecoms Service Providers in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and North America, including companies such as BT, DT, VF, O2, 1&1, A1, Swisscom. Telecommunications is a key sector for our client, involved in O-RAN, IoT initiatives, and digital transformation programs.

Role Details

The position is home-based. The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Empathy for customers
  2. High intellect (willing to undertake and pass a GAI test)
  3. Passion for technology (Cloud, Infrastructure, Virtualization, Data Analytics, Containers, AI, OSS)
  4. Teamwork and energy
  5. A proven sales track record or target achievement

The client's Linux OS is widely adopted, providing a strong foundation for market conversations. However, building trusted and profitable relationships requires proactive sales efforts.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  1. Manage an annual bookings quota within their territory
  2. Travel regionally and internationally for client engagement, conferences, and events
  3. Prospect new accounts, develop existing relationships, and collaborate on account strategy
  4. Sell enterprise software, open source, cloud, virtualization, and container solutions to senior enterprise levels
  5. Drive their sales pipeline with minimal support, despite some lead generation assistance
