The Early Careers Programme provides an exciting opportunity for participants to get a feel for working at the Forum, bringing in fresh ideas and gaining valuable real-world experience. The positions we offer are best suited to bachelors and masters program graduates, with 1-2 years of previous professional experience. Conditions and benefits of the Early Careers Programme
  • Hybrid (3 days per week) onsite employment contract of 6 months at a World Economic Forum office in New York
  • Program start dates between March 15 and April 15
  • Monthly gross compensation of USD $4250
The Forums Centre for Nature and Climate (CNC) seeks to safeguard our global commons and drive a systems transformation for a sustainable future. Within CNC, the “Resource Systems and Resilience” Program aims to support the transformation of production and consumption patterns in regenerative and efficient material systems, building societal resilience and health. The program tailors initiatives to address both acute risks and chronic environmental risks at various stages. Engaged stakeholders exercise their leadership and deploy their capabilities toward advancing sustainable development, fostering better living conditions for society. It operates through three impact areas designed to foster a preserved environment, healthy societies and a resource-productive economy. Why we are recruiting The Forum is recruiting an ECP to support the inception of the Alliance for a New Textiles Economy, which is set to officially launch in mid-2025. This ambitious new initiative aims to drive a system transformation towards a circular and sustainable textiles economy, where materials are maintained in a closed-loop system to achieve a waste-free future. This presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a new high-impact initiative through community building and project management, which are critical components to advancing this priority area at the Forum. Reporting lines and interactions The position will sit within the Forums Centre for Nature and Climate, reporting to the Lead, Circular Economic Systems, and will be based in the New York office. Internally, the ECP will work in close collaboration with colleagues in the Resource Systems and Resilience Program. Externally, the Specialist will interact with a wide array of partners and prospects across the Forum and with other relevant stakeholders. Main responsibilities The responsibilities of the ECP will entail the following: Community Management
  • Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with key partner organizations and stakeholders.
  • Support the onboarding of new community members and identify opportunities to expand and strengthen partnerships.
Project Management
  • Contribute to the planning and coordination of virtual and in-person community meetings and events.
  • Support the preparation of event communications and materials, including agendas, pre-read documents, and session summaries.
Content Creation
  • Design and distribute quarterly newsletters to the broader community, highlighting key updates, upcoming events, and opportunities for participation.
  • Develop engaging content that leverages community thought leadership for wider stakeholder dissemination.
Preferred requirements and experience
  • Bachelors or masters degree in economics, environmental sustainability, public policy / administration or related disciplines.
  • Early work experience in business, strategy consulting, international organizations, leading NGOs or government is desirable.
  • Strong community management skills and ability to build trusted relationships, foster cooperation across stakeholders and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Great project and time management skills, a strong work ethic, independent and self-driven, and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, digital and verbal communication skills, with good command of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Passionate about improving the state of the world, with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
