Position Highlights:

• Position: Staff Support Technician - Behavioral Health Adult Inpatient
• Hourly Pay Range: $17.00 - $27.32. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidates expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
• Location: Chicago, IL
• Per Diem
• Hours: Per Diem; Rotating Days or Nights based on need (7a-730p or 7p-730a); weekends and holidays as needed
• Required Travel: None

What you will do:

• Responds to the immediate needs of the patient by answering patient call lights promptly and courteously.
• As directed, by RN, makes hourly or more frequent rounds on patients for safety, comfort, and meeting patients needs/requests
• Positions, lifts, transfers, and ambulates patients as directed by the RN; use of Safe Patient Handling equipment
• Assist with setting up meals for patients and ordering meals
• Keeps patient rooms tidy, refreshes patients linen as need, removes unnecessary equipment and linen
• Assists patient with simple hygiene/comfort measures such as washing hands/face and oral care
• As directed by the RN, transports patient to other departments or during discharge
• When directed by the RN, remains with the patient continuously for patient safety.
• Handles infectious waste and linen according to established hospital procedure
• Adheres to proper infection control standards and hand washing techniques to avoid cross contamination
• Cleans and disinfects unit specific equipment
• Answers phones and/or cover/assist Unit Concierge as needed during the shift
• Acts as a "Runner" to other departments, when needed to obtain necessary items for patient care
